House Spoilers: Who's Going to Get Engaged? (Updates Again)

Here is the weekly update on who is getting engaged this season.  A favorite TV couple is going to tie the knot this season and House and Cuddy are still on the list among four candidates.  Below is the full story from Kristin Dos Santos of E!Online:

Shonda Rhimes, we heart you.

Whether it was intentional or not, the Grey's Anatomy badass mastermind totally spoiled our spoiler game! And the taste of our own medicine is hilarious and sweet.

Here's the latest from Shonda herself on which fan-favorite TV couple is getting engaged...

Shonda tweeted this in response to your queries: "Someone's getting engaged? Where? Who?"

And many of you rightfully assumed that meant I am not talking about anyone on Grey's Anatomy. (For you who haven't been glued to this site the past few weeks—where have you been?—we have been playing a spoiler game where I will ultimately reveal a TV power couple getting engaged.)

So sayonara, Mark and Lexie! They are officially out of the running, and sorry for you fellow fans who were rooting for 'em! As your consolation prize, you will get one very cool episode of Grey's Anatomy tomorrow night (it's the documentary-style one I've been raving about).

And now, the remaining couples—one of whom will be getting engaged before the clock strikes 2011:

    * Michael and Holly, The Office
    * Chuck and Blair, Gossip Girl
    * Lois and Clark, Smallville
    * House and Cuddy, House

Any other show runners care to step in and eliminate a couple? Join the fun!

I'd also love to know who you think the engaged couple is, and who you would like it to be. Weigh down below in the comments and poll...

Side note: You saw Amy Ryan's return to The Office is set, right? Let the angels sing!

House Spoilers: Popeater Interview with Lisa Edelstein

Popeater has this interview with Lisa Edelstein regarding Hugh Laurie's accent, working with Candice Bergen, and Lifetime Movies.  See the highlights of the interview below:

What's up for this season?
So far there are the usual House-ian medical mysteries with a bit of relationship stuff thrown in to spice things up. There has been a lot of foreplay, more foreplay than high school.

Candice Bergen will be playing your mother.
It's been great. I really like her a lot. She's hilarious, she's brilliant, I couldn't have asked for a better mother.

Did you grow up watching 'Murphy Brown'?
Um I did, but I've never really been a big sitcom watcher. She was a huge star when I moved to L.A. Her show was the top show. She's not just funny, you can feel her intelligence and that's what makes her so spectacular to watch. She always adds something more than you'd expect.

Are you friends with Hugh's wife?
Jo doesn't live here so I don't see her very often. I don't think she's worried about me. As much as it seems that I'm his 'American wife,' he's working 14 hours a day and I just pop in and do my scenes. I barely see the man.

Do you ever feel sorry for Hugh having to put on an American accent all day?
It's really hard for him. There are plenty of tongue twisters in our dialogue to begin with, let alone having to do it in a different accent. He does sometimes get frustrated with himself but that said, he's a perfectionist, he hears mistakes in his accent that I'm completely unaware of.

How much longer do you think the show will go for?
I have no idea but so far so good for me.

Any favorite guest stars?
I can't even remember the episodes we've already shot this season so I have no ability to pull up who we've had on the show. It's funny it all melds together and turns into one long day at work. You're constantly memorizing lines so it's hard to remember what we shot two weeks ago.

You're in one of my favorite Lifetime movies, 'Obsessed.'
That's so funny! That's great to hear, thank you.

I love Lifetime movies. Unironically, they're the best especially if you're not feeling well.
It's so interesting to me. Yeah there are people who can't get enough of them. I know a lot of really smart people who love Lifetime movies, I think because they all tie themselves up nicely at the end.

Do you watch them at all?
No, they're not for me at all; they've been very good to me. I've done three of them but they're not my cup of tea.

What's the weirdest place you've been recognized?
I was recognized in Bangkok on New Year's Eve. There are millions of people out on New Year's Eve and when you go out you immediately get doused with water and covered with this white paste. Even covered with white goo and soaking wet, somebody recognized me. I had my glasses on; it was the most bizarre moment. One little head popped out of millions and went, 'House!'

How do you respond when you get recognized?
You just wave. They're just excited to see you on T.V and then you're there.

Do you do a royal wave?
I don't although as I get older I try to do a wave that requires less jiggling. I think that's why the Queen waves that way.

You're a vegetarian.
Yes for 28 years. I was really a natural vegetarian. I never liked meat; I don't feel comfortable with it. I also think it's better for your health. I bring my own food to the set because the food is sort of crappy.

You should complain to the producers.
Yeah I have, believe me. They don't want to spend a lot of money on the food. They're creative as they can be with the budget they're given.

Seriously, the show is an international hit and they can't spring some money so that people who work 16 hours a day can eat decently?
I agree with you wholeheartedly. Also the crew would feel better and have more energy if they ate better. What I'll do is order food from a healthy place and pay for it for the crew. We all do that, the actors, the writers. If I'm in an episode a lot and I'm around 14 hours a day I'll usually spring for a meal for the crew. It's not that unusual.

House Spoilers: Who's Going to Get Engaged? (Updates)

Here is the weekly update on the spoiler about a couple getting engaged this season.  Well, House and Cuddy are still on the list, though four couples are down.  From Kristin Dos Santos, below are the highlights of the yummy spoiler:

It's not Penny and Leonard from The Big Bang Theory. Sorry, nerd lovers—and lovers of lovers—everywhere.

The final couples in the running are:

    * House and Cuddy, House
    * Lois and Clark, Smallville
    * Michael and Holly, The Office
    * Chuck and Blair, Gossip Girl
    * Mark and Lexie, Grey's Anatomy

Now, your hint for today: The producers recently did something very misleading to make you think this couple is not getting engaged. Naughty, naughty...However, they will be getting engaged before the calendar year is up.

House Spoilers: Lisa Edelstein and Her Pets - House Training

Lisa Edelstein talks to Cesar's Way and shares to all a chapter of her life when she's with her bestfriends - her dogs.  Read on to find out more about her sweet and caring love for her pets.

Not everybody who makes a living getting barked at is a dog trainer or a veterinarian. There’s also Lisa Edelstein, who plays Dr. Lisa Cuddy, Hugh Laurie’s long-suffering foil on the Fox hit drama House. Her role basically calls for her to endure the egomaniacal, Vicodin-popping Dr. House’s personal insults and sexual innuendos while keeping his career from imploding.

“But coming home to animals you love snaps you back to reality,” ” she tells Cesar’s Way.

Nowadays, those animals are her two rescue dogs, Shazam and Kapow. Shazam is a Schnoodle—a Schnauzer and Poodle mix—and Kapow is a Whoodle—a Wheaton Terrier and Poodle mix. “When I got Shazam, he was -pretty pathetic,” says Lisa. “He was only a puppy, but because he had gray hair, people thought he was much older. He was also very skinny. Had to be put in a hospital.” As for -Kapow, she says, “I wanted a breed that would get along well with Shazam, and it’s worked out great.”

The two pups are just the latest in a long line of pets that Lisa has saved from harsh circumstances, a preoccupation that started when she took in a stray cat at age 11.

“My parents were very understanding,” she explains. To grasp just how understanding, it helps to know that Lisa’s entire family is allergic to cats. And what’s more, the -adopted cat in question turned out to be pregnant.

Lisa’s father, a doctor in suburban Wayne, New Jersey, helped her find homes for the kittens, but most of them either died or were abandoned due to the carelessness of those who’d adopted them. Lisa cried. And then she got angry. But even more important, she began to feel extremely protective of animals without homes. The experience also opened her eyes to how much training people need before adopting animals, and to all the precautions they need to take—things she stresses these days when she helps people adopt pets as a volunteer with the Best Friends Animal Society. “Those who rescue strays mean well, but many times they take on too much responsibility,” says Lisa. “You’ve got to be prepared to do the work.”

Lisa has been training for what seems like forever, starting with her first dog, a Poodle named Corky. “He was really my mom’s dog, but we got along well. I grew up with him,” she says. “He was like my friend, not my dog. A great guy—he lived to be 19 years old.”

It wasn’t until Lisa had moved on from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, gained local fame in the 1980s club scene as “Lisa E., Queen of Downtown,” and wrote a musical, Positive Me (inspired by the AIDs epidemic that was killing many of her friends) that she relocated to L.A., where she adopted her first cat, Bugs. She and her roommate then took in a stray dog, Sandwich, a Shepherd mix who’d been hit by a car.

“She had very severe injuries,” says Lisa, “but we took her to the doctors and took good care of her.”

Sandwich stayed long after Lisa and the roommate went their separate ways. “When she died, at age 13, my doctors sent me a card listing the injuries she’d sustained at age four months, noting how incredible it was that she lived that long.”

Lisa’s next canine adoptee was Wolf E., an American Eskimo mix found on a film set and originally rescued by one of the actress’s neighbors. When Lisa visited, the dog literally fell at her feet. She asked if she could borrow Wolf E. for a day—and ended up keeping him.

Wolf E. had his problems—including poor vision, seizures, and difficulty walking—but many of them disappeared after he settled down in Lisa’s home and began to regain his confidence. There was one trait, however, that Lisa just couldn’t modify. “Wolf E. got attacked a lot when I took my dogs out,” she notes. “And he would attack too. Then my other dog would get into the fight. It was a mess.”

It was at this point that a very young Cesar Millan made an appearance in Lisa’s life. “This was way before Cesar was famous,” Lisa recalls. “I’d heard about him from a shop owner near me who had an aggressive Pit Bull. She told me good things about Cesar, and the word of mouth about him was also good. So I asked for his help.”

Cesar was happy to oblige. He showed up at Lisa’s home with his own pack of a dozen or so dogs and everyone—including Lisa, Wolf E., and Sandwich—went on a long hike.

“Cesar was like a little Pit Bull himself!” says Lisa. “He was the alpha dog, establishing himself as the leader by walking out front. And I began to see what I was doing wrong. At home, my life with Wolf E. was fine, but outside, there was no structure. I was not out front walking the dogs in a way that would make Wolf E. feel confident. He didn’t feel like part of my pack.”

Lisa made the adjustments Cesar suggested, and discovered, she says, that she could control her dogs. So much so, in fact, that she adopted another one—Bumpa, “a complete mutt” she found near Dodger Stadium—just as her career was taking off, in the 1990s. She became a familiar face on such TV shows as Mad About You, The West Wing, Ally McBeal, The Practice, and, most notably, Seinfeld, on which she played George Costanza’s “Risotto Girl.” In 2004 she was cast in House, as Princeton-Plainsboro Teaching Hospital’s dean of medicine. It’s a demanding role that can leave her looking for a lift at the end of long days at the studio.

Which brings us back to Shazam and Kapow, with whom Lisa currently shares her L.A. home. It’s almost paradise—except for Kapow’s vision problems. “He has trouble adjusting to other dogs when I take him to the dog park,” she says. “He recoils sharply, and he’s very territorial. Maybe Cesar can help me once again.”

Which is not to say that Kapow and Shazam aren’t major joys in Lisa’s life. “They force you out of your own head,” the actress says. “You have to communicate with them, no matter how you’re feeling.

“And more important, a little bit of love goes a long way with them. It takes very little to make the dogs feel happy. And then you feel better about yourself.”

TV Guide has labeled House and Cuddy as seventh in Top Moments: Love is Strange Edition. Below is the excerpt from the article:

7. Worst Caretakers: When Cuddy puts House in charge of watching her daughter Rachel on House, he finds a way to con Wilson into coming over to take over. But when Wilson and House both threaten to leave, the two call a truce and decide to babysit together. Unfortunately, while they were bickering outside for all of  two minutes, Rachel managed to decorate the living room with spaghetti, popcorn and other assorted junk. Plus, they find a quarter in her mouth, which turns out to be the coin she didn't swallow.

What's up with Cynthia Watros?  She has little exposure on "House" this past few episodes.  Here is TV Guide's update on her TV guestings.

Cynthia Watros is bringing back the crazy for a guest role on Desperate Housewives, according to Entertainment Weekly.

The House actress — who nabbed an Emmy in 1998 for playing unhinged stalker Annie Dutton on Guiding Light and more recently starred as mental patient Libby on Lost — will play Bree's unbalanced bud in the ninth episode.

Amber Tamblyn joins HOUSE for a multi-episode arc as Martha Masters, a brilliant but inexperienced third-year medical student whom Cuddy forces House to hire as a female team member in Thirteen's absence. In the midst of a tight senatorial re-election race, the New Jersey incumbent's campaign manager (guest star Jack Coleman) mysteriously falls ill with liver failure and temporary paralysis. After a surprising campaign announcement is made by the incumbent (guest star Pat Finn), House and the team look to the candidate to find clues about the patient's condition. Meanwhile, Foreman (Omar Epps) learns that Taub (Peter Jacobson) has a past connection to Masters, and in an effort to save his patient's life, House must make a critical decision that may compromise his relationship with Cuddy.

LIE TO ME (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) - "The Canary's Song"

When Lightman investigates a coal mine explosion that killed six miners, he suspects that foul play may have been involved. To find the truth, he puts his life at risk and descends below the surface. Monday, Nov. 15

HOUSE (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) - "A Pox on Our House"

After a 200-year-old medicine jar found on an off-shore shipwreck shatters in a teenage girl's palm, she is admitted to Princeton Plainsboro for symptoms closely linked to smallpox. When the Center for Disease Control's Dr. Dave Broda (guest star Dylan Baker) institutes a lockdown on the hospital and suspends House's team's ability to diagnose, Masters (guest star Tamblyn) grows suspicious of Broda's motives and becomes convinced that the patient is suffering from a different disease. The girl's father soon experiences similar symptoms, and House is forced to make a precarious decision that puts his own life in jeopardy. Meanwhile, Wilson (Robert Sean Leonard) and Sam (guest star Cynthia Watros) comfort a 6-year-old chemotherapy patient (guest star Devon Woods) who prompts them to examine their relationship.

LIE TO ME (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) - "Beyond Belief"

Lightman goes head-to-head with the leader of a self-help empire (guest star David Sutcliffe) to free a wealthy woman (guest star Julia Campbell) who may be under the control of the cult-like leader. Monday, Nov. 22

HOUSE (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) - "Small Sacrifices"

Science and faith are called into question when a patient (guest star Kuno Becker) is admitted to the hospital following his reenactment of the Crucifixion. Meanwhile, Taub questions his wife, Rachel (guest star Jennifer Crystal Foley), about her relationship with an infidelity support group member, and the team attends a co-worker's wedding where Wilson's relationship with Sam (guest star Watros) takes an unexpected turn.

LIE TO ME (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) - "Smoked"

The terminally ill owner of a successful chain of restaurants (guest star John Amos) hires Lightman to fulfill his dying wish: to track down his daughter's killer. House Spoilers: What Can You Say About the Ratings of "House"?

Matt Roush of TV Guide has answers to the issue about the ratings of "House" this 7th Season and here it is:

Question: Do you have any idea why House's ratings are falling? I know there are always the odd ducks who jump on the bandwagon of "I hate the relationship between so-and-so that the show has very obviously been leading us to for 6 or 7 years; I'm not watching anymore!" but could that really account for such a drop? I'm thinking that given its age, it just can't stand up to all the competition on Monday nights. I personally am loving the House/Cuddy relationship. It brings humor, drama and momentum to the show and I really want to see House make this attempt at being a happy person. Plus I just know it's going to be both hilarious and touching to see House try to bond with Cuddy's daughter. House is my must-see show of the week and I feel bad people are bailing on it. I always seem to discover shows just a little too late: 24, Battlestar, etc. — Lauren

Matt Roush: I tend not to obsess on ratings unless they're perilously bad, and House's really aren't, though it has noticeably slipped from mega-hit status lately. That is only to be expected in a show in its seventh season. It's a rare show (i.e., NCIS) that actually sees
its popularity grow with longevity. There is probably a fatigue factor where House is
concerned, and I'll admit I would have drifted away as a regular viewer myself if I had the option, once the show began to mess with its core ensemble way too early in its run. But not so much this season. Like you, I'm a fan of the House-Cuddy relationship and enjoy seeing the impact it's having on the characters and the workplace. It's just what the show needed to shake things up a bit. But it's quite possible that because the first episodes of the season dwelled on it so heavily, it may have been a turnoff to some fans. In the bigger picture given how competitive Mondays are, House is still a valuable asset for Fox, so I wouldn't get too worked up over any of this.

Here is another update on Jennifer Morrison's guesting on "How I Met Your Mother" from Michael Ausiello at EW.com

Will she turn out to be the mother? Beats me! All I know for sure is that ex-House doc Jennifer Morrison is joining How I Met Your Mother this Monday as an extremely significant other in Ted’s life. Her character, an architecture nut named Zoey, is smitten with Ted…until she discovers that the fancy new building he’s designing is going to replace the historic one she’s trying to preserve. The following clip from Monday’s episode takes place before the you-know-what hits the fan…
