House Spoilers: Olivia Wilde Joined TOMS' "One Day Without Shoes"

Shira Lazar of CBS News sheds light on the very noble cause of TOMS' "One Day Without Shoes" in Venice California where "House" star Olivia Wilde joined 1/4 million people in the celebration.  Watch the video below to see Olivia Wilde and Blake Mycoskie.

When Blake Mycoskie created TOMS shoes in 2006, people thought he was crazy.

The concept behind it wasn't necessarily the most lucrative for him. He decided that for every shoe you buy, TOMS would donate one to a child in need. And so began their motto "One For One."

He was obviously on to something, because three years later, the company has continued to grow tremendously. Through their sales, they have been able to bring over 600,000 pairs of shoes to developing countries like Rwanda and Ethiopia.

Why shoes you might ask? Many children in these areas grow up barefoot. This puts them at risk of soil-transmitted diseases causing physical and cognitive harm and even hinders them from being able to attend schools and which also requires shoes.

Yesterday, they celebrated "One Day Without Shoes", and had 1/4 million people spending their day without shoes in over 1,600 events around the world to raise awareness about the movement.

I joined Mycoskie and actress Olivia Wilde walking barefoot in Venice, Calif. to chat about the event and why supporting the cause around TOMS is so important.

"I've been wearing TOMS shoes since they came out," Wilde told me while marching barefoot. "They are my favorite shoes." As for the event, the "House" star said, "It's a creative way to raise awareness and I am really proud to be here."

House Spoilers: Katie Jacobs on House Season 6 Finale

Michael Ausiello at EW.com has this interview with "House" executive producer Katie Jacobs on Huddy, Luddy, and what remains to be for the next season. You should read this interview and together let us think and reflect on this...

Last year at this time, House was exhibiting the early signs of a complete mental breakdown. What’s his emotional journey as this season winds down?

KATIE JACOBS: Considering the fact that he’s not on Vicodin, things have been going as well as they could possibly go. He’s living with Wilson, and I think that’s helpful. And he’s really making an effort to hold it together. It sort of seems like in every episode there’s a new revelation about how well he really is doing. How is he faring just taking ibuprofen for the pain? Is that working? In episode 17 he was stuck in that room for two hours with David Strathairn and we found out he is in pain. And from now until the end of the season, there’s going to be something that challenges House’s [sobriety] in almost every episode.

Wilson’s ex-wife returning being one of those things?

JACOBS: Yes. If that relationship progresses to the point where they want to live together, what does that mean for House? Does he stay or does he go? Also, some things from [his] past are going to come back and maybe present themselves as an opportunity for him to connect to someone else, and it’s not going to work out so well. Everybody but House is sort of taking a step toward, coupling up or at least trying to. Wilson with Sam, Cuddy with Lucas, and earlier in the season there was Foreman with his brother. And little by little House is going to find that he’s pretty much on his own again.

Let’s talk about the Huddy of it all. Back in February, David Shore confirmed that House and Cuddy would eventually hook up. Fans, of course, are growing impatient.

JACOBS: I understand the fans’ point of view, but the relationship between Cuddy and Lucas offers Cuddy some really important things: companionship, shared responsibility of Rachel, and they have a nice time together. What I think fans are responding to is that they don’t feel that relationship provides everything Cuddy can have. I would say watch for [an answer to this question]: Is that relationship going to work for Cuddy? Because it’s a lot of good things but it’s not everything. But no relationship is. How long will that work for Cuddy? Will it work permanently or will it not work?

I can’t tell you how many emails I receive a day from fans who just want Lucas gone.
JACOBS: They don’t want her to settle for anyone less than House. And that’s something she has to wrestle with. Is this really going to work for her? Is this going to be the relationship? And we know that’s on everyone’s minds. It’s on our minds as well.

Would it be fair to say she’s going to come to some sort of decision about that before the end of the season?

JACOBS: It’s addressed, so far as, “Okay, am I going to make this work with Lucas? Can I stay with Lucas?” It is going to be addressed by the end of the season whether or not she thinks she can.

You hinted earlier that someone from House’s past comes back. Is it a former love?

JACOBS: I won’t address that. But I will say that one of the things that we haven’t shown, but that’s been ongoing, is his treatment with Dr. Nolan [Andre Braugher]. Just because he’s been out of the hospital doesn’t mean that he doesn’t have regular therapy session. We haven’t shown that, and you’ll see that.

Thirteen and Taub’s three-year fellowships are due to expire at season’s end. Will that be addressed?

JACOBS: Boy, you’re so smart. I don’t know. I really don’t know. I will say there’s a mystery at the end of this season with one of our characters. Oh, that’s so vague.

Can you be a little more specific?

JACOBS: [Hesitates] In the final episode there’s an unanswered question with one of our actors and it’s a mystery that will play out over next season.

To sum it up:
It seems that House is always on the brink of going back to the spirit of Vicodin, like he is put to a test every episode after "Lockdown".  He's also going to reconnect with someone from the past and it's not going to turn out fine.  There is going to be a question left unanswered with one of the actors and this is going to linger on and play out in the next season.  Wow, I think the season finale is going to be heavy.  What do you envision, House fans?  Get back to me below!

House Spoilers: Sarah Wayne Callies Makes a House Call

Fancast was very lucky to get these questions answered by our next patient-of-the-week Sarah Wayne Callies:

What can you tell us about the character you’re playing on ‘House’?

What interests me about her is that she is somebody who’s made some very unconventional life decisions, but she’s otherwise a very conventional person.

What symptoms does she arrive with?

Stomach pain – not your typically House-worthy type of complaint! The patient is actually more interesting than the ailment, which isn’t always the case on House.

Who takes most the interest in your character?

Different characters take interest for different reasons. The situation of her being in an open marriage is something that everyone responds to based on their own prejudices, insecurities, beliefs, desires, etcetera. She’s holding up a bit of a mirror. The people it lands the most on are probably Taub, and House. And Thirteen

Does House judge her?

That is what he tends to do, but no, he is excitedly open-minded about it, and talks about wanting to “find the unicorn.” Whether or not he’ll be persuaded [that such a "unicorn" exists] is the story of the episode.

You look convincingly worse for the wear in some of the scene shots. Is it harder being made up to look sickly versus pretty?

It’s not easy to be sitting there looking like you’re on death’s door looking up at Olivia Wilde, who always looks phenomenal and perfect. Thank goodness she’s such a nice person, or it would have been insufferable!

Turning to ‘Prison Break’ and its controversial ending: Did you agree with Wentworth Miller, that Michael needed to die?

A series like ‘Prison Break’ could have ended in a huge variety of ways. Anything that was too Pollyanna, anything like a “Happily ever after” would not have rung very true. Michael was a man with very dirty hands who lived a very complicated life. I don’t think that necessarily means he deserved to die; it means that him living was a complicated enterprise. He went into this with a pretty white knight kind of a project, to save his brother, so looking around at all of the collateral damage would be tricky.

The problem with killing Michael is that it has robbed us of any chance of a reunion movie down the road.

Heaven knows I haven’t heard anything about anything, but I am the absolute last person on ‘Prison Break’ to say that a death means you’ll never see a character again!

Do you ever bump into your former cast mates? I just saw a photo of Went and he’s rocking a full head of hair!

Yeah! I haven’t bumped into people too much, because I’ve been out of the country working a fair amount. But I hear from [William] Fichtner (Mahone) every now and again…. There are certain people you hope you work with again. It’s just a matter of time.

What were you working on out of the country?

I just got back a couple weeks ago from doing a film in Nigeria. That was pretty extraordinary, to be part of a story about Africa and Africans, written and directed and starring Africans. I have a huge amount of admiration for our director and our cast, the crew…. It was well over 100 degrees and we were outside six days a week, working 16 hours. It was one of the most brutal shooting experiences. And I’m leaving in two weeks to do a movie (the horror-thriller ‘Faces in the Crowd’) with Milla Jovovich; that should be pretty fun.

I imagine you’ve been offered other series regular TV roles. Is there anything in particular you’re looking for?

I’m looking for something that would be pretty new. Every now and again people come up with something fresh and cool, which is what ‘Prison Break’ was. A lot of people have different opinions about serialized television, but I liked telling a long story. I’m really proud of ‘Prison Break,’ especially the first season, and I’d like to be a part of something that fresh again.

House Spoilers: "Open and Shut" Sneak Peeks

Watch these sneak previews of "Open and Shut" which will air tomorrow night on FOX.  Thanks to MsHousefan for these wonderful videos.  The patient-of-the-week, Sarah Wayne Callies, is in an open marriage and this seems to interest House on the case.  This episode will take us deeper into a more meaningful side of an open marriage including the medical side, if there really is.  House is really like Sherlock Holmes, he quickly figures out people the minute he walks in.

House Spoilers: Will House Play a Hero in the Season Finale?

Will House play our hero towards the end of the season?  TV Fanatic clearly sums up the scoop in this article:

Despite the fact that this doctor saves lives on a regular basis, that's not typically a description one would use for the man.

But House producer Katie Jacobs explains that's how viewers will see the troubled former Vicodin addict on the show's season finale.

“The finale is sort of a very unusual circumstance in that it [deals with an emergency] outside of the hospital,” Jacobs told EW.com. “Every doctor in the area is basically called because it’s a genuine, immediate, tragic situation. Fans can expect to see a heroic House, and that’s not lost on Cuddy at all.”

Will this finally lead to the Huddy relationship we've been clamoring for? Let's hope so!

Before that possibility is even broached again, House will air a new episode on Monday, Aril 26.

It centers again on Wilson and Sam's burgeoning relationship, while also featuring Sarah Wayne Callies as a patient with seemingly routine symptoms... but an unorthodox lifestyle.

House Spoilers: Hugh Laurie - Annoyingly Talented

TV Guide Magazine featured recently an article written by Hugh Laurie about the "Lockdown" episode.  Some have reservations on whether or not he's really the one who wrote the article.  Oh, my, a guy like him cannot be doubted.  He is just too talented to hire a ghostwriter for him.  So here is TV Guide Magazine's answer to that question.

Is it just me, or did Hugh Laurie use a ghostwriter for his TV Guide Magazine article? Or can he add author to his resume? - Karen Stover Westerville, OH

He already has! According to TVGM managing editor Lisa Chambers, who oversaw the House star’s piece, “He did not use a ghost writer. In addition to being an Emmy-nominated actor and (now) a TV director, he's also a novelist.” (Laurie—who went to, ahem, the University of Cambridge—published comic murder mystery The Gun Seller in 1996.) “For the story last week, he wrote two drafts and not much editing was needed at all,” says Chambers. “Is there anything this guy can't do?” Diagnosis: Annoyingly talented.

House Spoilers: Eva Amurri Guest Stars on "House"

Watch out for Eva Amurri, the stripper Jackie in "Californication".  She guest stars on "The Choice" as the fiancee of the patient-of-the-week.  She has a beautiful face and definitely looks a lot like her mother Susan Sarandon.  Here are other facts about her from Starpulse.com:

The daughter of actress Susan Sarandon and Italian filmmaker Franco Amurri, Eva Amurri began acting at the age of seven. Her first film appearance was in the political satire Bob Roberts, a pet project by her mom's partner, Tim Robbins. Amurri then accompanied Sarandon in several films, including Dead Man Walking, where she portrayed her mother's character of Sister Helen at age nine. After breaking out on her own as Sara Livey in the independent comedy-drama Made-Up, she gained some attention as Ginger Kingsley in The Banger Sisters, where she appropriately plays the daughter of Susan Sarandon's Lavinia. Amurri then earned a role in the coming-of-age drama Saved (2003).
